ABOUT US

Wild Haven is a community-focused initiative built around the belief that everyone deserves a safe, welcoming and enjoyable outdoor space.

We aim to support individuals and families who may be struggling to maintain their gardens, while creating opportunities for people to come together, learn new skills and make a positive difference in their local communities.

Through volunteering, practical gardening projects and wildlife-friendly improvements, we hope to transform outdoor spaces, encourage biodiversity and create environments where both people and nature can thrive.

At Wild Haven, we believe that even the smallest actions can make a lasting difference.

Our Story

Wild Haven was created by Lois Folkard. Her passion for gardening, wildlife and helping others inspired her to turn an idea into something that could make a genuine difference.

What started as an idea to improve outdoor spaces has grown into a much bigger ambition: to create opportunities for volunteering, hands-on skills and training, and meaningful community projects. Wild Haven was created with a vision to support people who may need an extra helping hand, bring communities together and encourage more people to connect with nature.

"We are still at the beginning of our journey, but we are really excited to see what we can achieve together as we continue to grow" - Lois Folkard

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve outdoor spaces, support people and bring communities closer to nature.

We aim to:

  • Support people: Help individuals and families who may be struggling to maintain or enjoy their outdoor spaces.

  • Encourage volunteering: Create opportunities for people to get involved, meet others and make a meaningful contribution.

  • Provide skills and training: Offer hands-on experience, practical gardening skills and opportunities to build confidence through real projects.

  • Protect wildlife: Encourage biodiversity by creating wildlife-friendly gardens and improving habitats for pollinators and other native species.

  • Build communities: Bring people together through shared projects, outdoor activities and a common passion for nature.

As we grow, we hope to expand our garden support projects, develop more volunteering and training opportunities, build relationships with local organisations and eventually establish a dedicated community space where people and wildlife can thrive together

Be part of our Journey
